AlloDerm® Regenerative Tissue Matrix has been used to successfully close tympanic membrane perforations for more than a decade1
“AlloDerm has been used to successfully repair tympanic membrane perforations in 20 patients, 17 of whom had failed previous surgeries with no suitable temporalis fascia. Comparing hearing results with temporalis fascia graft patients revealed no significant differences. This product should be added to the otologist’s armamentarium for tympanic membrane grafting."2

An innovative technique for tympanoplasty repair using AlloDerm® Regenerative Tissue Matrix
Surgeons have used AlloDerm® Tissue Matrix successfully as a graft to repair tympanic membrane perforations for many years. Published data has shown, when used for tympanic membrane perforation grafting, it provides comparable closure rates and audiologic results to native tissue.3 In addition, because it is convenient to use and readily available, it may reduce operative time and allow surgeons to preserve native tissue and avoid donor morbidity from autologous graft harvest.

AlloDerm® Tissue Matrix has been used in a variety of soft-tissue repair procedures in more than one million grafts and implants to date. As shown in animal studies, it supports tissue regeneration by allowing rapid revascularization, white cell migration and cell repopulation4, which can minimize the risk of infection of the implant. Ultimately it is transitions into host tissue for a strong, natural repair. AlloDerm® Tissue Matrix is derived from natural tissue which is processed using a proprietary technique to remove the cells that can lead to tissue rejection and graft failure. The resulting acellular tissue matrix is strong, optimizing outcomes for soft-tissue repair procedures, including ENT applications, challenging hernia repair and breast reconstruction post-mastectomy.
